-Avoid alcohol and/or caffeine for 72hours before to minimise swelling.

-DO NOT take aspirin, niacin, vitamin E or ibuprofen unless it is medically necessary for 48/72 hours.

-Do not work out on the day of your treatment as your body heat expands the pores.

POST TREATMENT:

-Avoid swimming until the area is completely healed and even after it’s recommended to put a bit of Vaseline on the area to protect against the salt/chlorine.

-Avoid getting the area wet and putting lotions/makeup/ pencils etc. on for the first 10days.

-Avoid scrubbing for 1month and skin treatments/facials for 2 weeks.

-Keep sweating to a minimum and avoid direct contact with the sun for the first 10days or until the top layer has flaked away.

Microblading or Micropigmentation

Microblading and micro pigmentation are both ways of enhancing your appearance by the implantation of pigments into the skin but use different methods to do so, microblading is done by a hand tool whereas micropigmentation is done with a cosmetic tattoo machine. During your consultation, Jemma will assess your skin type and provide advice on which method she thinks will suit you best in regards to your skin type and what kind of results your looking for and from there you can decide which method you would like to go for. Everything will be fully explained in depth so you can be confident in knowing that you will receive the best treatment possible.

DO NOT PICK OR PULL AT THE AREA!!

IT MAY RESULT IN INFECTIONS OR PIGMENT LOSS THESE ARE THE HEALING STAGES

Eyebrows are the frame of the face.

99% of people do not have perfect brows, in fact, most sets of brows are not symmetrical and therefore by having this treatment you can bring the WOW effect to your brows! Hair strokes are perfectly implanted into the skin using precise techniques to blend, lift and define the brow as well as improving and enhancing the shape. Jemma also offers a powdered effect to her clients. The brows are shaded over to give the effect that the client has constant perfectly applied smudge-free makeup so you can wake up perfect every day! On your appointment, Jemma will take her time and spend around 30-40 minutes designing the brows to suit your expectations and make them as symmetrical as is physically possible. If you get your eyebrows waxed or tinted please have this done 72 hours prior to your procedure. Follow the general rules for semi permanent make up in keeping them dry and not applying any makeup, lotions etc.

You will be provided with a sachet of After Inked cream, which a thin layer can be applied with a cotton bud to the area but only do this if you have particularly dry skin. Straight after your procedure, your brows will appear bolder but the colour will soften as the tissue heals in a few days. It is common for the brows to heal patchy and areas to fade more than others after the first treatment. This is 100% normal and is all part of the healing process which will be treated on you 4-6 week top-up procedure.

It is impossible to predict how each person will heal as everybody is different so it is important to follow the guidelines to ensure the best possible results. The treatment is not deemed complete until you have had your top up 4-6 weeks after your initial procedure to make slight alterations and add more colour. Once you have had this it’s recommended you have annual colour boosts to keep them looking fresh. Some eyebrows may need additional procedures to achieve the desired results and fees may apply for this.

As we age our lips shrink and fade

With Semi permanent make up we can enhance our colour and define our shape. Jemma can even reshape uneven lip lines whether caused by the ageing process or cold sores. This procedure can also help camouflage scars/freckles and prevent lipstick bleed. There is a wide range of lip colours from natural to a more dramatic shade. The lip treatments can give a fuller effect and Jemma offers 3 different options to her clients:

Lip Liner – Jemma will implant pigment carefully along the line of the lip and blend it in to give a permanent lip liner effect.
Lip Blush – A lip tint is carefully implanted into the skin giving a more enhanced shade to the lips.
Full Lip Blush – this is the full liner and blush treatment giving the client enhanced and defined lips with their chosen colour so all they need to do is add lip gloss and they are ready to go!

The chosen colour at first is 70%-40% darker than the healed result, (because of epidermal cell renewal). In some cases, the healed colour may not been see for up to 3 months. After the first treatment the colour will fade to lighter than the desired shade and this will be touched up at your 6 week top up as well as any alterations to the shape. If you have ever suffered from a cold sore it is important that you take the correct steps to try and prevent you coming out in a breakout after the procedure although even if this is done the procedure could still cause a breakout. Your doctor can prescribe you with anti-cold sore tablets or you should take a course of zovirax prior and post procedure. You may also wish to take lysine tablets (available at health food stores) for up to 2 weeks prior and post procedure. A cold sore is a virus which unfortunately never leaves and may resurface at any time especially if there is trauma to the lips. Even if you have only ever had one years ago you must still be aware that having semi permanent lip procedure may result in a breakout.

Eyeliner define the eyes

Eyeliner can define the eyes and make a difference to your whole face but having to try and create this effect on a daily basis with conventional makeup can be hard work, time-consuming and you can easily over do it! With permanent makeup, there is no smudging or having to remove every night… it is also swim-proof, gym-proof and can survive any sad event!! Eyeliner can make the eyes look bigger as well as enhancing the colour and making you look more wide awake.

Eye treatments are more irritating than painful. The tropical numbing creams used ensure pain is kept to a minimum. Jemma advises her clients to take an antihistamine prior to their appointment to keep swelling to a minimum this may also need to be repeated the following day of the treatment. The eyelids are very sensitive so treatments in this area are very gentle. It is important to come to your appointment wearing no false eyelashes and ensure any semi permanent eyelashes are removed 72 hours prior treatment. after you have had your treatment it is important to avoid wearing any make up on the eyes for a few days and avoid false lashes until the area is healed (around 10-14 days).

The first treatment healed results will be quite subtle and in some cases pigment may disappear altogether in the healing process, the 4-6 week top up will determine the true healed colour but further visits may be required to achieve a dark full black eyeliner.

Eyelash enhancer

Swelling is hardly noticeable with this treatment but still, an antihistamine is advised to be taken prior to treatment.

This treatments mimics thousands of tiny lashes and therefore gives the effect of more fuller looking lashes. Jemma does this by implanting pigment in between each eyelash.

The pigments used are hypo-allergic and perfect for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

HEAL
As soon as your procedure is finished your body will start to heal. The skin will close and you may see a thin scab which protects the area whilst healing.
PEEL
After a few days, the scab will fall away and you will see pigment.
FADE
You will see a lighter hue of implanted colour. This colour will change over 4/6 weeks. In some cases, healed lip colour will not be seen for up to 3 months. In some cases, eyeliner can disappear entirely during this phase.

Micro-pigmentation

Micro-pigmentation is also becoming popular with males and Jemma offers:

Eyebrows: Some males have little or no eyebrows and some just want to define the shape. Jemma can implant subtle hair strokes into the skin to give a more enhanced and defined brow.

Eyelash enhancement: Hypo-allergic pigment is implanted in between each eyelash giving the effect of thicker lashes.

Hair Follicle replication: Coming soon….. Implanting single needle dots of pigment into the scalp to camouflage scars and/or replicate the appearance of having a shaved head. Men who suffer from male-patterned baldness can benefit from this service as well as men and women who have thinning hair.

Why do I need a second visit?
On the first treatment it is best to do little rather than too much as this can be added on your second visit. Once the pigment is in the skin, this can be hard to correct. After your first treatment the pigment may fade quickly and so a second treatment is carried out 4-8 weeks after to boost the colour into the skin.
How long will the make up last?
Although the pigment will stay in the skin indefinitely, the colour will remain visible for several years. The amount of colour retention is dependent upon the client’s age, skin type, colour choice, and lifestyle.
Is the procedure painful?
With advancements in digital technology and training techniques the level of discomfort is kept to a minimum. Advancements in the effectiveness of the anesthetics used also mean a minimum of discomfort for the client. Most people are pleasantly surprised by how relaxed they feel during a treatment and the majority say the experience is more of an irritating feeling than painful.
Can I have it done if I am pregnant?
No
What happens during a cosmetic permanent treatment?
A consultation is given to assess the client’s expectation and also to assess the client’s colouring and face shape. The client is given a topical anesthetic cream. The technician draws on the required shape using cosmetic pencils. The client has to approve the shape before the treatment commences. Once both the technician and the client are happy the client can then choose a colour. The treatment is performed using the most advanced digital technology, therefore enabling precise application and use of a disposable cartridge system.
What happens after the treatment?
Directly after the procedure you may feel a little tenderness which quite quickly disappears. Occasionally there may be a small amount of swelling. The colour may appear a little more intense but will fade over the next few days up to 50%. A follow up treatment at the cost of £50 should be done between 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment. This is to complete the procedure and make and adjustments to colour or shape.
